Clams Casino and Anita Cookie are two of New York’s hardest working and popular burlesque stars. Clams is a two-time trophy winner at the Miss Exotic World Pageant in Las Vegas, the world’s only international burlesque competition; she’s been called a “burlesque queen by the New York Times and performed and produced on stages across the country. Anita is a Golden Pastie Award winner at the New York Burlesque Festival and performs solo and in a number of comedy and musical duos up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Neil O’Fortune is a popular emcee and host of the monthly Gameshow Speakeasy at the Slipper Room. Together they are Casino O’Fortune Cookie Productions, producers and stars of the acclaimed shows Killer Queen Burlesque and Borderline Burlesque: Midnight Madonna Madness at the Zipper Factory Theater and Jackson Family Values: Beat It Burlesque and The Costello Show at Joe’s Pub!
Creamy Stevens brings a twisted and hysterical sensibility to every performance. Together with her partner Little Brooklyn, Creamy is the mind behind the legendary Starshine Burlesque, one of New York’s favorite and longest-running weekly burlesque shows. Not only a staple of the City’s stages, she has performed around the country, most recently as part of the spring 2009 Monsters of Burlesque tour of the Midwest.
Dr. Lukki (pronounced “Lucky”) is the world’s only burlesque star with a PhD! Not only one of New York’s boldest and most outrageous performers, her unique talents have graced stages throughout the country. Lukki is also a respected educator, a professor on the faculty of New York University teaching the history, aesthetics and cultural relevance of burlesque, and developing new performers at the New York School of Burlesque. A prolific producer, Lukki co-presents Wanted! Wild Bandits of Burlesque with Julie Atlas Muz every month at NYC’s Rodeo Bar.
Gigi & Pop are the quirky pop music duo made up of DJ Momotaro and Anita Cookie. Momotaro is New York’s best-dressed DJ, who can be found spinning an eclectic mix of vintage funk, soul and foreign language pop at clubs and events throughout the City and beyond. Gigi & Pop combines Anita’s sparkling vocals with Momotaro’s range of samples and instruments from ukuleles to toy keyboards. This summer they were the first-ever winners of the Best Variety trophy at the 2009 Burlesque Hall of Fame Pageant in Las Vegas.
GiGi LaFemme is one of the City’s sultriest striptease stars and co-producer of the monthly show Revealed Burlesque at the Under St. Mark’s Theater. A Golden Pastie Award winner, the multi-talented bump ‘n’ grinder, go-go girl and chanteuse is also the host of Wasabassco Burlesque at venues around New York, New England and Washington, DC.
Miss Saturn is the queen of hula hoops, a star of New York’s variety and cabaret scene for 15 years. Her performances combine comedy, music, striptease and up to 40 hula hoops in a lightning-fast display of dexterity and gyration that is unlike anyone else! A producer and performer from Coney Island to New Zealand, Saturn has shared the stage with musical acts including Modest Mouse, Moby and The Walkmen.
