The Red Stick Ramblers, a young Lafayette, LA five-piece, are Sugar Hill's newest signing. Their genre-blending approach to new and traditional music has made them a festival and college favorite- especially on the dance floor, where they invariably induce universal toe-tapping. In addition to making fine music all over the globe, the Ramblers are also active at home in Southwest LA, keeping musical traditions alive, creating a cast-iron cookoff/music festival (Black Pot Festival) that's in its second year, and helping reinvigorate their local Courir de Mardi Gras.
"There's a good maxim in art," says Ike Sheldon, lead singer and guitarist Kansas City's hillbilly band, The Wilders. "You shouldn't really break the rules until you know the rules. Look at Picasso; the dude was absolutely amazing. He could draw anything perfectly, very detailed and realistic. That's how he could move on to other things. We said 'If we are gonna play country music, let's learn what makes it tick.' And now that we know, we are reaping the benefits; we can throw the rules out the window. If you want straight Hank Williams, we can do it right. But don't give me any shit for being just like a rock and roller and totally twisting it around."

Met Nathan in Belfast Airport , had a wee natter and passed the time, just a pity the flight was boarding as were had lovely time, met the rest of the band too. all down to earth and sweet. Were invited to go to the Scots gigs by them but couldnt make it , but hope to get to the Celtic visit in January to see them in concert, been watching some youtube clips and getting right into this Bluegrass stuff. Even got a song by Nathan in the airport he sang a wee bit of Irene Goodnight. ....loved yer boots Nathan. lovely to meet you.... Irenexxx
