Returning to Joe's Pub for the third time in late August, Brooklyn indie-rock band Kind Monitor (aka KM) continues to charm audiences and critics alike. Fans compare the band's gentle melodies to Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, and Thom Yorke, while critics call Kind Monitor "true song-writing talent,"* "intellectual rockers,"** and "a great NYC band."***
Since last appearing at Joe's Pub in March, Kind Monitor's startling video for their song Cairo has been featured on LogoTV's NewNowNext Music, debuting at #4 on LogoTV's Click List. The band has also been show-cased as an emerging talent at The Bitter End's Song-writers Showcase. And the Aquarian writes: "With an expansive set of influences and unusual arrangements ... KM articulates that particular emotion you get waiting for a date that won’t show."
This summer show celebrates the continued success of the band's debut EP Somebody Saves My Life Most Every Single Day (available on Itunes). Specifically, this lovely night of live music marks the completion of the new music video for the KM song Sharks (an audience favorite), which will be screened after the show at a private party (after party location TBA). Look for some special guests to appear on-stage. Third time's the charm!
