SOUL MAFIA: Bred in Indianapolis and now hailing from Brooklyn, Soul Mafia disregard existing musical genres and forge a brave new sound that is both timeless and right on time. Fronted by G.C., known as the "Jimi Hendrix of Hip-Hop" for his triple proficiency as a rapper, guitarist, and saxophonist, Soul Mafia reflects influences from Guns N' Roses to Jay-Z to Prince while ultimately landing in a space all their own. www.soulmafia.netBLITZ THE AMBASSADOR: The seed of rebellion has taken root. On the frontline stands Blitz The Ambassador. This multitalented lyricist/producer/film director was born and raised in Ghana. His very first encounter with the emerging sounds of Hip-Hop came with KRS One's "The Bridge is Over". This early exposure set the tone for what was to become a childhood full of talent shows, MC battles, local radio appearances, and homegrown popularity that could only come with the emergence of a young star. Fast forward to Brooklyn New York; Immersed in the sounds and sights of Hip-Hops home, Blitz honed his skills lyrically as an MC. Sick of the mundane "assembly-line" nature of Hip-Hop, Blitz crafted a unique sound, taking cues from such artists as Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Common – his unique sound bridges the gap between the soulful sounds of the streets and the ill-nature of politics. With Blitz's third studio album, Suicide Stereotype he has his mind set on changing the way hiphop approaches live instrumentation, lyrical content and the multimedia experience. The album features emerging collaborators Def Jam Poet J.Ivy, Hypnotic (Brass Ensemble), Rob Murat, Mattison, and production from long time co-producer Optiks. This array of collaborators has produced an album that spans from the worls of Afro-Hop, Progressive Rock, Jazz and Soul, and Latin rhythms. www.myspace.com/blitztheambassador
