Lisa Loeb Celebrates CAMP

Lisa Loeb Celebrates CAMP
An Evening With Lisa Loeb & Friends

Show Description

"Loeb lends her gentle wit to this camp-themed album, which features familiar sing-alongs like "Peanut Butter & Jelly" and original tunes like "Best Friend," with its reassuring lyrics about making new pals." – People Magazine

“Camp Lisa is definitely a Lisa Loeb CD, and the campfire sing-alongs and playground chants mesh well with her indie sound. Good Humor abounds.”
– Cookie Magazine

Lisa Loeb takes the stage to celebrate the release of her new children’s CD CAMP LISA and share her love of all things camp with a show that is decidedly grown-up friendly.  Loeb’s set will include fan favorites, plus songs from both of her children’s CDs, as well as audience requests. The show will open with selected readings from the book Camp Camp: Where Fantasy Island Meets Lord of The Flies, the follow up to Jules Shell and Roger Bennett’s cult classic, Bar Mitzvah Disco. A love letter to summer camp, it is the ultimate summer read featuring hundreds of photographs and stories straight from former campers A.J. Jacobs, Rachel Sklar, Paul Feig, David Wain, and Sloane Crosley.

New York-Area fans can submit short reminiscences of their own camp experiences to (lisaloebmanagement@managethismedia.com). One lucky former camper will be chosen to join the Camp Camp contributors on stage and read his or her winning submission.

Loeb’s new children's CD CAMP LISA is a collection of new tunes and old favorites largely inspired by '70s-style rock and pop and Loeb's own cherished camp memories. The disc features several special guests including Kay Hanley, Dave Gibbs, Nina Gordon, Jill Sobule, Lee Sklar, Maia Sharp and comedian Steve Martin and is currently available exclusively through Barnes & Noble.

In conjunction with the release of Camp Lisa, Loeb has launched her own non-profit, The Camp Lisa Foundation, that will help raise funds to send underprivileged kids to camp through its partnership with SCOPE. While she is in the New York area Loeb will visit The Fresh Air Fund and Trail Blazers Camps on July 17 where she’ll get to meet, perform for and spend time with the campers at these two very special facilities.
